URBAN PLANNING

Designed in 2012 as Seoul’s future global icon, this project is the world’s first expandable media bridge. Infused with the artistic spirit of pioneering video artist Paik Nam-june, it transforms the Han River into a 24-hour cultural and tourism district. The 1-kilometer-long, six-level mega-structure integrates pedestrian circulation, convention spaces, culture, art, hotels, parking, marinas, and vehicular traffic, declaring Korea’s global leadership as the birthplace of media art through a monumental work of social installation art.
SEOUL (PAIK NAM JUNE) MEDIA BRIDGE

A national mega-project, the largest development undertaking in Korea since its founding. Created through global collaboration with six world-renowned architectural firms, the project establishes a powerful urban axis connecting Yongsan and the Han River. Applying the original Core–Node–Cell urban model, it realizes a self-sustaining mixed-use city where commercial, business, and residential functions operate in organic harmony.

A core proposal of the international competition “Paris Réinventer” this project presents an innovative model of urban regeneration and air-rights development, creating new buildable land by three-dimensionally connecting spaces above the Boulevard Périphérique. As a symbolic collaboration between Korea and France, it fuses Marcel Duchamp’s avant-garde art with Jeong Seon’s (Gyeomjae) true-view landscape aesthetics, articulating a vision for a 21.5-century future city.
L'AIR NOUVEAU DE PARIS

A future-oriented urban platform officially recognized through an international competition win by the Seoul Metropolitan Government—“The Farming City”. The project proposes an advanced urban regeneration solution that preserves existing sports facilities while hybridizing them with residential functions, reinterpreting the aesthetics of Korea’s traditional Mongchon Earthen Fortress.
