BA SON PROJECT
2008
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Overview
Located at a strategic node where Ho Chi Minh City’s historic core meets its future urban expansion, and set along the Mekong River waterfront, this project is envisioned as a Waterfront Cultural Complex. Targeting Asia’s young creative class driving Vietnam’s rapid growth, it is planned as a Global Anchor Destination where work, leisure, and everyday life converge. Comparable in scale and symbolism to Dubai or Macau, the project is positioned to become Southeast Asia’s premier cultural and tourism hub—an iconic landmark that generates new national economic value.
Urban & Architectural Concept
Against the backdrop of the Mekong River—the lifeline of Southeast Asia—the architecture introduces the contrasting metaphors of “Permanent Snow” and an “Ice Forest,” creating a dramatic counterpoint to the tropical climate. Glacier-like forms that appear to split and flow deliver a powerful visual cooling effect, reshaping the urban axis that connects the old city and the new. This composition defines a future-oriented skyline, offering a unique architectural expression that blends freshness, mystery, and refined elegance along the riverfront.

Business Vision & Philosophy
More than a conventional urban development, this project elevates Vietnam’s historical heritage and vibrant cultural energy into a contemporary National Iconic Asset. As a cultural and tourism hub attracting both global visitors and the country’s young intellectual and creative communities, it will enhance the city’s brand value and generate sustainable economic impact—establishing itself as Asia’s next iconic destination.
