THE MARKET WALK
2011
Jeju, South Korea
Overview
This project is a mixed-use residential and commercial platform designed to generate organic urban vitality through the synergy between housing and street-oriented retail. Planned as a 147-unit residential community targeting trendsetters and the creative class, it goes beyond a conventional residential–commercial complex to become a local community anchor, envisioned as a new urban node for Jeju where creative talents naturally gather.
Urban & Architectural Concept
Jeju’s distinctive, lively market sentiment is reinterpreted into a contemporary open street mall concept. Rather than enclosed structures, the design features open circulation that encourages natural foot traffic and serendipitous encounters, allowing the city’s vibrant energy to flow seamlessly into the residential environment. The result is a dynamic community hub where cultural leaders and creators interact—an immersive, multi-layered social venue offering one of the most compelling spatial experiences in the city.

Business Vision & Philosophy
By cultivating a circular business ecosystem where creative cultural production, trend-driven consumption, and comfortable living coexist, the project creates sustainable long-term value. Positioned as a must-visit destination for visitors and a source of pride for residents, it is envisioned as a distinctive lifestyle destination that injects new energy into Jeju’s local economy and rises as a landmark unlike any other.
