THE FOREST
2011
Jeju, South Korea
Overview
This biophilic architectural project reinterprets the primal vitality of Jeju’s Gotjawal forest through the geometric aesthetics of hexagonal modules. Conceived as more than a residential development, it was planned as a curated lifestyle platform where art and relaxation coexist. By embedding the micro-ecological structures of nature into architecture, the project achieves a distinctive high-end residential value that enables seamless interaction between humans, nature, and art.
Urban & Architectural Concept
The dynamic energy of Gotjawal—where tree roots embrace volcanic rock—is expressed through a bold architectural language. The naturally efficient hexagonal structural system creates organic spatial flow while maximizing panoramic ocean views. A continuous open-plan ground floor and three-dimensional terrace gardens on the upper level dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior. In particular, the sculptural circular staircase and double-height foyer transform the entrance into a mini gallery, delivering a powerful sense of arrival and spatial drama.

Business Vision & Philosophy
The project elevates residential space from a place of rest to a cultural environment of inspiration. A gallery-like lobby and private nature-oriented retreat areas curate the daily lives of residents, offering a refined stage for living. Designed for ultra-high-net-worth individuals seeking differentiated lifestyles, this development is positioned as a collectible architectural asset—a singular landmark whose value will continue to appreciate over time.
